We were early adopters of infused drinks and they have come a long way in the last few years! We curate these similar to edibles–if they taste great, they make the menu. Some of them are better in taste than their non-cannabis counterparts! These are a great way to relax and a great option for people who are trying to stay alcohol-free!
Drinks are an alcohol-free, adult, discreet, smokeless option that hit a little bit different than inhalable cannabis with a faster onset than edibles.
Like edibles, drinks are processed through your liver and are MUCH stronger than a joint or vape. Unlike edibles, the onset of drinks is usually faster than 30-40 minutes and your dose really depends on you.
Drinks are limited to 10mg THC per can/bottle but there are options starting as low as 2mg. CBD or other cannabinoid drinks are also available.
One can/bottle is a single serving. Like beer or wine, you may need a couple servings to achieve your correct dose.
Start low, go slow.
Regulated drinks are WAY better than unregulated that we’ve tried. There may be exceptions but regulated drinks have a lot invested in the infusion equipment from existing drink companies. Like edibles, you at least know what you are getting. Unregulated drinks have no standards for packaging or testing and are not regulated by Health Canada. They can put anything they want on the package (including inflated or even made up THC content). Studies have shown unregulated edibles never contain the amount advertised. This is problematic because consumers think they need more than they can actually tolerate.
Many cannabis drinks are very low in sugar (under 5g) or sugar free and most are low in calories (with great calorie free options). Seltzers are an especially good option. Products that look like lemonades, juices or pops usually have more calories (but usually not as many as non-cannabis versions).
