What is dabbing?
Dabbing is where a surface (usually made of quartz or titanium) connected to a bong is heated red hot with a torch (or through electricity) and a dab (small portion of concentrate–specifically not hash) is then touched to that surface creating a vapour. The vapour gets inhaled through the bong.
Can I use any bong as a dab rig?
Technically any bong can be a dab rig (just add a banger!) but dab rigs made specifically for dabbing tend to be smaller than a regular bong with less air intake. It is common to have a small mouthpiece (so you take more of a sip than a chug). Dab rigs are usually intricate sometimes with different percs or recycling function (where water cycles through the whole piece to cool down and pace the vapour).
What other accessories might I need?
If you are buying a new rig, it usually comes with a banger. In that case you will only need a torch dabber with carb cap. Carb caps help you clear the bong, and are used to cap your banger or nail and functions similar to a carb cap on a pipe or pulling the bowl on a bong.
Terp beads go into your banger and help cycle through the extract (instead of taking too big of a dab and wasting some in the banger).
Dabbers/dab tools can be made from glass or titanium and are just meant to be a cleanable way to dab.
Torches in our distribution stream tend to function similar to a creme brulee torch but with a bit more power. All torches require butane (also available).
What is an e-nail or portable dab vape?
E-nails are stationary devices that stay hot for hours so you can easily take a dab whenever you want. They get dangerously hot (do not leave them unattended or in reach of pets or children).
Portable dab vapes are devices that get much hotter than a normal vaporizer but work basically the same way. They can look like mini-bongs or like vape pens.
