Cannabis Expert: Manager

Start date: TBD (Depends on when the store receives the license to sell cannabis).

Summary of primary responsibilities:
• Ensures all patrons are 19 or older.
• Ensures that patrons are not purchasing cannabis or cannabis accessories on behalf of individuals under the age of 19.
• Oversees store premises, equipment and facilities, including surveillance and security.
• Prevents unlawful activities.
• Executes compliant advertising and promotional activities.
• Conducts training related to the responsible use and sale of cannabis.
• Ensures the protection of assets.
• Responsible for record-keeping and measures to maintain confidentiality and security of records.
• Ensures compliance with the federal cannabis tracking system.
• Ensures AGCO Manager License is always current and in good standing.
• Exercises oversight of retail operations.
• Enforces multiple ID check points including at the door in the ID checking zone and at the cash prior to purchase.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining any standards set out by The Registrar, The AGCO, or any provincial or federal ruling.
• Ensures no minors have physical or even visual access to the interior of the premises.
• Ensures surveillance system is always working.
• Ensures any cannabis is always stored securely and only accessible to authorized personnel.
• Ensures all recordkeeping on site is current and complete.
• Ensures a full physical inventory count is completed on a weekly basis (at minimum or as requested by the AGCO).
• Responsible for any mandated destruction of cannabis.
• Ensures any cannabis that is outdated, recalled, damaged, deteriorated, misbranded, adulterated, returned or otherwise ineligible for sale is kept separate from sellable cannabis.
• Responsible for purchasing any cannabis that is being kept in sensory display containers.
• Responsible for the transportation of cannabis between stores (when granted additional licenses in the future).
• Ensures all activities within the store and actions of employees are legally compliant.
• Ensures that information related to the responsible use of cannabis is always available to patrons, specifically the Health Canada Consumer Information—Cannabis document.
• Serves customers by providing merchandise and supervising staff doing the same.
• Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
• Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
• Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
• Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
• Ensures the proper implementation of any corporate directives (policy, marketing, human resources, etc.).
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies where applicable.
• Operates the cash register and ensures website information is current.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Able perform all functions of the Key Holder role at an advanced level.
• Must complete all ongoing training designated by the AGCO.

Compensation:
• Depending on experience, $55000+ per year in biweekly payments to start
• Full medical and dental benefits available through Sunlife.

Minimum Qualifications Applicants Must Meet:
• Must be able to provide a current CPIC that shows no charges under the Cannabis Act and no links to organized crime.
• Must have successfully completed CannSell Standard certification and hold a current Managers License from the AGCO (attach proof of both to application).
• Must be 25 or older. 
• Must submit a cover letter and a resume.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of Cannabis Expert: Sales experience or equivalent (with preferred experience from the LCBO, Beer Store or another cannabis company).
