Week 11: Hitting the outer boundary!

Week 11: Hitting the outer boundary!

Posted by Jennawae McLean on 2020 Feb 13th

Strains in the tents: White Widow, Spanish Mango, Juice Box, Ayahuasca Purple.

Grow method: Indoor SCROG with LED.

LED Details: 2x California Lightworks 1100 + 2x California Lightworks 550, on our VEG 3 setting of 90: Red, 99 White, 90 Blue for 18 hours.

Gear I am using: Pure Tents, California Lightworks 1100s and 550s LEDs and controller, Pure Pots (20 gallon), Promix HP, solo cups in various sizes, Lock Down Pads, Greenhouse Powder Feed.

Another productive week.  We managed to hit the outer edge of each of the tents.  We are getting very close to flower now so we need to aggressively water and stretch over the next couple weeks.  We are aiming for 80% filled screens in the tents before we switch over to flower.  Once flower starts we have 10 more days of stretching before each bud is in its final spot.

Strain name: Spanish Mango
Genetics: An early phenotype of Soma's Somango bred out by a friend in the North of Spain.
Flowering time: 8-9 weeks
Yield: Average
Level of difficulty: Medium
Notes:  This strain is growing really well but the leaves are still being a bit of a pain because they are SO large and just pushing up my screen with such force (so it seems like there isn't a lot of growth but there is).  The tent is filling up quickly though and with a few readjustments and by getting rid of any leaves in my way, I'm able to get the screen under control!

Strain name: White Widow
Genetics: Brazilian X South Indian
Flowering time: 8-9 weeks
Yield: Heavy
Level of difficulty: Easy
Notes:  I think this might be my current favourite strain of the bunch now!  This White Widow is just growing so voluminously and as if it was intended for a SCROG.  I'm sure the short internodal spacing will lead to an insane amount of pruning in the next couple weeks but I am really jazzed that I moved this one to a smaller tent and its filling up quickly!

Strain name: Ayahuasca Purple
Genetics: Red River Delta X Masterkush
Flowering time: 9 weeks
Yield: Heavy
Level of difficulty: Easy

This girl is a little deceptive because it seems to have super awesome internodal spacing but the branches seem to be a little brittle (or I am just too excited and/or aggressive) because I keep snapping a stalk at the bottom when I stretch out.  I am fixing it with zip ties but get ready to see a million of those at the bottom when I start pruning after day

Strain name: Juice Box
Genetics: (Cannalope Haze X Juanita La Lagrimosa) X Jack The Ripper
Flowering time: 10 weeks
Yield: Average - Heavy
Level of difficulty: Medium

Notes:  Talk about a thirsty girl!  My Juice Box has been drying out much quicker than the rest, and showing signs of underwatering much faster than the others.  I had to give it a little extra this week.  I am hoping it stretches out in the next couple weeks, because I absolutely LOVE this strain!
